The ‘Alaris Medical 124030 – NEBULIZER SYSTEM II RESPRIGARD, 20 PER/CS’ is a specialized nebulizer system designed to deliver aerosolized respiratory medication. Initially designed for the clinical investigation of aerosolized pentamidine, it is suitable for delivering most types of aerosolized respiratory medication. The design and configuration of this nebulizer system help to minimize the environmental impact of any aerosolized medication compared to a standard small volume nebulizer. The system includes a mouthpiece, wye, one-way valves (inspiratory and expiratory), filter, tee adapter, small volume nebulizer, 60 mL reservoir tubing, and O2 or compressed air supply tubing. The performance specifications of this system include an MMAD of 3.5 +/- 0.2 μ, a respirable mass output rate (1-5 μ) of 83 +/- 8 μg/min, a treatment time of 7.3 +/- 0.4 mins at sputter + 1 min, and a residual volume of 1.0 +/- 0.1 g. Each case contains 20 units.
