The Cardinal Health SU130-1410 is a Hubless Flat Silicone Drain with Trocar, designed for medical use. The drain is 7mm x 20cm in size and is perforated in full. Each box contains 10 drains, with 8 boxes per case.
The drain is made of a silicone elastomer, which provides softness and flexibility. It is injection molded for strength and drain integrity. The low-profile, hubless design promotes tissue plane approximation, while the inner lumen ribbing helps prevent drain collapse and clogging, preserving drain patency. The silicone is also barium impregnated for x-ray detection of the drain.
The drain is used to remove pus, blood, or other fluids from a wound after surgery. The trocar, a sharply pointed shaft with a three-sided point, is used to insert the drain into the patient’s body. One end is inserted into the patient’s wound, and the other end is connected to the drain and the evacuator.
The product is designed for single patient use only and should never be reused. It is kept sterile and ready for use. All tubing/reservoir connections must be physically tightened and secured. The drain site should be dressed separately from the operative incision site. A nonadherent dressing can be used as the contact layer around the drain. Gauze dressings can be cut into a Y-shape to fit snugly around the base of the drain.
