The C.R. Bard 0103L22 is a Lubricath Foley Catheter, designed for extended use in draining urine from the bladder. This 2-way catheter features a Coude Tip and a 30 cc balloon. It is a 22 FR size and comes with a hydrophilic polymer coating for smooth insertion and reduced irritation. The catheter is made from latex and comes in a red color for easy identification. Each case contains 12 catheters.
The Bardex Lubricath Foley catheters are known for their hydrogel coating and are available in a variety of balloon and tip configurations, ranging from 12-30Fr. These catheters are designed for patients who are unable to urinate on their own and require a catheter that can remain in the bladder for an extended period.
One of the key features of the Bardex I.C. Foley catheter is its ability to reduce catheter-associated urinary tract infections. This is achieved through a technologically-advanced formulation that includes a Bactiguard silver alloy coating and BD hydrogel. This combination dramatically reduces bacterial adherence and minimizes biofilm formation.
It’s important to note that the occurrence of urinary tract infection is 3.7 times greater in patients catheterized with a standard catheter than in patients catheterized with the Bardex I.C. Foley catheter with Bactiguard silver alloy coating and BD hydrogel. This makes the Bard 0103L22 a superior choice for both patient comfort and infection control.
