The C.R. Bard 0102SI18 is a Foley Catheter designed for those who require a catheter for an extended period. This 2-Way, Specialty, Tiemann Model catheter is made from Red Latex and features a Medium Olive Coude Tip and a Single Eye. It is 18FR in size and has a 5cc balloon.
The catheter is coated with an anti-infective coating, making it clinically proven to reduce catheter-associated urinary tract infections. This is achieved through a technologically-advanced formulation consisting of Bactiguard* silver alloy coating and BD hydrogel. This combination dramatically reduces bacterial adherence and minimizes biofilm formation.
The catheter is available in multiple sizes ranging from 12-30 Fr and comes in different tip configurations, including Coude and straight. It has been found that the occurrence of urinary tract infection is 3.7 times greater in patients catheterized with a standard catheter than in patients catheterized with the Bardex I.C. Foley catheter with Bactiguard silver alloy coating and BD hydrogel.
