It includes a 5cc balloon, which is inflated with sterile water to securely anchor the catheter in the bladder.
The catheter is made from red latex and is coated with a Bactiguard silver alloy and BD hydrogel. This advanced formulation significantly reduces bacterial adherence and minimizes biofilm formation, thereby reducing the risk of catheter-associated urinary tract infections. In fact, clinical studies have shown that the occurrence of urinary tract infections is 3.7 times greater in patients catheterized with a standard catheter than in patients catheterized with the Bardex I.C. Foley catheter.
