The Vyaire Medical 001226 AirLife Tracheostomy Mask is a disposable mask specifically designed for pediatric patients. It is designed to provide comfort and ease of use to the patient. The neckband is made from a comfortable, nonbiting material, and the swivel tubing connector allows access from either side of the patient. This feature allows for minimal disturbance to the patient when the mask needs to be removed, thanks to the special strap clips.
This tracheostomy mask is used to help patients breathe by placing a tracheostomy tube through a hole and directly into the windpipe. It is often required in cases of restricted airways, emergencies when the airway is blocked, or when a disease or other problem makes normal breathing impossible.
To ensure proper care of a tracheostomy, always wash your hands with soap and water before cleaning and wear gloves. The skin around the stoma should be cleaned twice a day with a 50:50 mixture of sterile water and hydrogen peroxide.
This product is designed for single use and is not made with natural rubber latex. It is a prescription use (Rx) product and is not available over the counter (OTC). The device is not a kit, combination product, or a human cell, tissue, or cellular or tissue-based product (HCT/P).
