LAC Health knows community improvement goes beyond just writing cheques. It requires a thoughtful approach that uses our position as a healthcare provider. We build partnerships with local non-profits to address health and wellness needs. We fund health initiatives that promote wellness and access to medical care, health education programs and low cost services to underserved populations. LAC Health Philanthropy also invests in education programs like scholarships for healthcare students and health literacy workshops. Our commitment extends to sustainability initiatives that promote environmental health. The Health Initiative (THI)
THI is dedicated to promoting national public health priorities through disease prevention and health promotion efforts. Established by Congress in 1976, THI operates under the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
It translates science into policy, guidance, and tools to improve health literacy and equitable access to clear health information. THI focuses on areas such as:

- Health literacy
- Sustainability
THI provides comprehensive resources, personalized support, and community engagement to enhance overall health and wellness.
Employee Engagement and Strategic Giving:
LAC Health believes our employees are our greatest resource in community outreach. We offer skills-based volunteering, volunteer recognition, and support for employee-led initiatives. Our giving is strategic, focusing on local impact, capacity building for non-profits , supporting innovation, and forming long-term partnerships. We measure our impact by setting clear goals, conducting regular reviews, publishing an annual Community Impact Report, and seeking stakeholder feedback. Our community outreach is governed by a Community Impact Committee that sets strategic direction, reviews programs, and ensures alignment with our values.
Partners and Annual Review:
LAC Healthcare Philanthropy partners with local non-profits, educational institutions, government agencies, and corporate partners to maximize our impact. We review and refresh our Community Involvement and Giving Policy annually, which involves reviewing outcomes, assessing community needs, gathering stakeholder feedback, researching corporate social responsibility trends, and refining our approach as needed. This process ensures our initiatives remain relevant and effective in addressing community health issues and creating lasting change.
