408264 – 20 G x 7 in. BD Westcott Fine Needle Aspiration Biopsy, Sterile, Single Use
The Westcott needle has a beveled tip and a notched outer cannula. The side notch creates a second cutting edge and allows for aspiration of more material; however, the volume is often limited by the smaller sizes these needles come in. The side notch is 2 mm in length and begins approximately 3 mm from the tip of the needle. The Westcott needles come in sizes between 22 G to 20 G.
- BD Westcott biopsy needles are specially designed for soft tissue or organ aspiration biopsies, transcutaneously.
- BD Wescott biopsy needles allow aspiration during the procedure to control the position of the needle (in hard tissue, a blood vessel or a cavity containing liquid or gas).
- BD Westcott needles can be used to take adequate samples for histological, cytological and bacteriological examinations.
- Likewise, it is possible to inject a contrast fluid, an anesthetic product or a vasoconstrictor by the needle lumen.
