The B Braun L5202 is a Dextrose 10% solution contained in a 250mL EXCEL container. This sterile, nonpyrogenic solution is designed for intravenous administration and is indicated for use in both adults and pediatric patients as a source of calories and water for hydration. The product does not contain any bacteriostatic or antimicrobial agents.
The EXCEL IV containers are biologically inert and do not contain DEHP or PVC, making them a safer choice for patients. They are designed to resist heat up to 40 degrees Celsius for a period of 30 days until expiration once opened.
This product meets the United States Pharmacopeia (USP) requirements for fill volume of a large volume parenteral product, including a 2% overfill to compensate for the residual volume left in the container after drainage and an additional 2% to allow for water vapor transmission losses out of the container over the product’s shelf life.
The B Braun L5202 Dextrose 10% solution can be stored at 25 degrees Celsius for up to 1 month without any plastic overwrapping, or until the expiration date. It is recommended that facility protocols regarding adequate storage of drug product containers are followed.
Each case contains 24 units of the 250mL EXCEL IV containers.
