The Smiths Medical 537090 is a Portex® Per-fit Percutaneous Tracheostomy Kit designed to provide a safe, fast, and cost-effective solution for percutaneous tracheostomy procedures. This kit is engineered to minimize complications and is conveniently organized in a double-deck tray with all necessary preparation and procedural components.
The kit includes a patented Portex® percutaneous tracheostomy tube, a specially designed and sized obturator/dilator, and procedural dilators to facilitate optimum technique. The tracheostomy tube is made of flexible PVC and features a tapered distal tip and a low-profile cuff. These features are designed to reduce insertion force and more readily conform to the individual patient’s anatomy.
The obturator/dilator fits the tube snugly, allowing for an easier transition through the tissue into the trachea. This product is disposable, non-sterile, and comes in a pack of 20. It is suitable for use with a tracheostomy size of 8mm. Please note that this product is intended for medical professionals and should be used by trained personnel only.
