The Deroyal 46-IV25 ALGIDEX AG + I.V. Patch Dressings are designed to manage exudating wounds, including abrasions, lacerations, dermal wounds, donor sites, first- and second-degree burns, surgical incisions, vascular access sites, pressure ulcers stage I-IV, stasis ulcers, and venous ulcers. These dressings come in a 1″ disc with a 7 mm opening.
The Algidex Ag I.V. Patch is a sterile patch of polyurethane foam coated with an ionic silver alginate and maltodextrin matrix. It contains silver that is evenly distributed in the ionic state, providing a sustained antimicrobial activity in the dressing for up to seven days against a broad spectrum of microbial organisms.
These dressings provide a quick and sustained antimicrobial barrier against a broad spectrum of microbial organisms for up to seven days, helping to reduce bacterial colonization associated with catheter-related infections. They also absorb moisture around the catheter insertion site. The silver side is wound facing with a gentle, non-adherent foam backing.
The dressings may be applied immediately following initial catheter placement or during routine catheter dressing change. They are secured in place with a retention dressing such as gauze, transparent film, or tape and may be worn up to seven days.
Please note that Algidex Ag I.V. Patch should not be used on patients with known sensitivity to alginates or on patients with sensitivity to silver or silver compounds, on third-degree burns, ulcers resulting from infections, lesions in patients with active vasculitis, and should not be surgically implanted.
The package includes 5 dressings per box and 50 boxes per case.
