The C.R. Bard 0103L16 is a Lubricath Foley Catheter, designed to facilitate the draining of urine from the bladder for individuals who are unable to do so independently. This 2-way latex catheter is unique in its hydrogel coating and is available in multiple configurations, including a 16 French size with a 30 cc balloon.
One of the standout features of this catheter is its coude tip, designed for easier insertion. This product is a part of the Bardex I.C. anti-infective latex Foley catheter line, which is clinically proven to reduce catheter-associated urinary tract infections.
This is achieved through a unique formulation that incorporates a Bactiguard silver alloy coating and BD hydrogel. These materials work together to dramatically reduce bacterial adherence and minimize the formation of biofilm. As a result, the occurrence of urinary tract infections is 3.7 times lower in patients using the Bardex I.C. Foley catheter compared to those using a standard catheter.
