Our Renewable Energy Policy outlines our goals and actions to increase our use of clean renewable energy.

We see a future where LAC Healthcare facilities are powered by renewable energy, reducing our carbon footprint and contributing to global efforts to combat climate change. This aligns with our values of accountability and innovation and ensures long term energy security and cost stability for our business.

Current Status

As of 2024, renewable energy sources make up 10% of LAC Healthcare’s total energy usage. While this is progress, we know we need to speed up our transition to clean energy.

These are big targets but achievable. We are committed to real change and believe in the rapid evolution of renewable technology.

To achieve our renewable energy goals LAC Healthcare will:

  1. On-site Generation

We will invest in on-site renewable energy installations across our healthcare facilities. This will include:

  • Solar panels on rooftops and car parks
  • Small wind turbines where possible
  • Geothermal heating and cooling for new builds
  1. Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs)

LAC Healthcare will enter into long term PPAs with renewable energy suppliers to ensure a steady supply of clean energy and support the growth of the renewable energy industry.

  1. Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs)

To bridge the gap while we transition we will strategically purchase RECs to offset our non-renewable energy usage.

  1. Energy Efficiency Measures

Alongside increasing renewable energy we will implement energy efficiency programs to reduce overall energy consumption and make our renewable targets more achievable.

  1. Green Building Standards

All new LAC Healthcare facilities will be designed and built to LEED Gold minimum, with a focus on energy efficiency and renewable energy from the ground up.

  1. Electric Vehicle (EV) Infrastructure

We will install EV charging points powered by renewable energy at all major sites and encourage staff and visitors to use clean transport.

Annual Energy Audits

Conduct comprehensive energy audits across all sites yearly to identify opportunities for renewable energy implementation and efficiency improvements.

Energy Tracking Database

Develop and maintain a robust database to track renewable energy usage, associated costs, and key environmental metrics.

Regular Reporting

Provide quarterly updates to senior leadership and publish annual public reports on our progress towards renewable energy targets.

Policy Review

Annually review and update our renewable energy policy to reflect new technologies and market changes in the sector.
